Cannondale Lefty road bike fork - spotted

Cannondale has teased a video showing what appears to be a forthcoming gravel road bike complete with a road-going version of its iconic Lefty suspension fork.

The company isn't giving too much away at this stage, but what's clear is that the bike features an alloy frame with what appears to be a quick release rear end (rather than the thru-axle units used by some competitors) as well as internal cable routing. The video shows two bikes, presumably at a prototype stage, one with mechanical and the other with hydraulic SRAM disc brakes.

The fork itself looks to be an existing, or possibly a modified version of the company's existing Lefty XLR – a long standing 29er mountain bike fork that offers 100mm of travel from its air spring.

Those decals look familiar..

The appearance of this Lefty is pretty exciting and could be the start of these sort of bikes opting for a new generation of damped suspension units. We'll keep you posted once we've got more info.
