Paramo Quito waterproof jacket review

Paramo is best known for high-end hiking jackets, but the Quito tested here is a super-versatile ‘multi-activity’ waterproof designed with an emphasis on cycling.

The cut is athletic, with long sleeves that don’t drift up when riding and huge pit vents that work around pack straps and can be easily unzipped with one hand.

Most importantly, it’s made from Nikwax Analogy, a dual-layer fabric that’s designed to be incredibly waterproof yet remain extremely breathable. In practice, it works well, even when you’re really working hard.

It’s also deceptively comfortable, feeling more like a shellsuit than a waterproof jacket. This is thanks in part to the soft lining, which wicks sweat effectively. The material is quite bulky though, and despite its breathability can get quite warm, so – despite what the manufacterer says – this jacket is best left for cold winter days.
